Look and you shall see, as we like to say at the Sanguine Root. We have numerous  naturally occuring Dogwood trees here in Morris Park. Depending on the light, they can be easily overlooked on a woodland walk. Often the flowers float above eye- level in the mid-story under canopy.

The last known bloom of the 2011 season of Bloodroot in Morris Park

This is the very last blooming bloodroot in Morris Park to our knowledge.  This would have been 34 consecutive days of blooming for this plant, with bloom times staggered from differing populations and staggered within populations. That would be over a month of blooming!
