Almost 50 years ago, at a country home, far SE corner of Chester county, at a rehearsal for the Philadelphia Renaissance Singers, sitting on a rocky hillside, I saw–rue anemones for the first time: the pale green leaves seemed almost to float over the brown leaves that covered the groud, supported by almost invisible stems, and the tiny flowers, that one would likely pass over if you weren’t looking for them–touched something in me. I fell in love with them–and with native flowers, and trying to grow and cultivate them when I was able. .
    I think you have little watercolor sketch of a spring beauty I made. I had a imagined that someday I might make a little book of drawings like this.
