Melanerpes aurifrons
Here is the forest of Morris Park, taken from the living room window. From this forest emerged the Red-Bellied Woodpecker to feed on our bird-feeder.
Sitting on the couch, the bird was spotted. The camera, kept on the coffee table was slowly lifted and poised for photography. At one point, the bird stopped eating and took notice. And then it kept eating.
